What's happening in Washington
The 2026 Washington legislative session ran from January 12 through March 12. During this time, lawmakers considered budgets, new programs, and laws that affect government services, public health and safety, education, housing, transportation, jobs, and more.
Washington has expanded the telebupe hotline statewide. Anyone age 13 or older can talk with trained emergency physicians who can prescribe buprenorphine to ease withdrawal and support recovery. The hotline is free and available every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Call 206-289-0287.
A state of emergency allows access to life, safety and emergency protective measures and additional federal resources. Those affected by the floods can find information and resources from the Washington Department of Transportation and Washington State Military.
